How to Change Your Domain in Shopify
How to Change Your Domain in Shopify
Changing your store’s domain is managed directly in Shopify settings. SEOWILL does not control or modify your store domain or page URLs.
Change or Add a Domain in Shopify
- Log in to your Shopify Admin.
- Go to Settings → Domains.
- From here, you can:
- Connect an existing domain
- Buy a new domain through Shopify
- Set your primary domain
Once updated, Shopify will apply the new domain to your store.

About Changing Page URLs
The page URLs of your store are tied to your Shopify domain and URL structure. These cannot be changed by SEOWILL.
If you want to use a different URL for your store, the correct approach is to:
- Set up a custom domain in Shopify
- Assign it as your primary domain
This allows your store to use your preferred domain name while keeping your store data and pages intact.
Important Notes
- Domain and URL settings are controlled entirely by Shopify.
- SEOWILL can optimize SEO-related elements (meta tags, redirects, indexing, etc.), but cannot change your store’s domain.
- After changing domains, we recommend:
- Setting up proper 301 redirects
- Resubmitting your sitemap in Google Search Console
- Re-running SEO checks in SEOWILL to ensure everything is synced correctly
